

Carol Wideman Mueller of Alpharetta, GA passed away on January 12, 2025. Carol was born on January 18,1934 in Alton, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Arlan Jacob Mueller, and her son, Timothy Lee Mueller. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Mary Mueller of Panama City Beach, FL; daughter and son-in-law Sara and George Scarborough of Alpharetta, GA; three grandchildren, Emily Scarborough Wilt (Matthew), Benjamin Scarborough (Elizabeth) and Trevor Mueller; and 6 great-grandchildren, Caroline Wilt, Olivia Wilt, Jackson Wilt, Luke Wilt, Rory Scarborough, and Rosie Scarborough. Carol is also survived by her brother-in-law, Harold Pritchard; and nephews, Mark (Judy) and Brian Pritchard. Carol was a loving and devoted wife and mother who cherished her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol graduated from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. She began her teaching career in Long Beach, CA where she met her husband and life partner, Arlan, “AJ.” After becoming a mother, Carol set her teaching career aside and dedicated herself to raising her children and supporting her husband’s career which took them to Wyckoff, New Jersey, Houston, Texas, and finally to Alpharetta, GA following AJ’s retirement. She returned to education as a substitute teacher in Houston. Carol was a member of Alpharetta Methodist Church for many years. She was an avid reader and book club member, participant in the AMC blanket ministry and mahjong player. Through these activities, she forged many lasting relationships. Carol was also a gifted needle pointer who created many treasured keepsakes for her family members. Traveling, gardening, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards were activities she enjoyed throughout her life. She found great enjoyment in nature and delighted in the the birds who visited her bird feeders.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Alpharetta Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors at a reception following the service.
