Darryl and Kevin,
My mother, Elizabeth (Mada) C.S. Palmer who died on August 4, 2017 at 95 years old. called your mother (Caroline). They were best friends even though there was an age difference. Parties at Carolyn's Uncle Monroe's and Aunt Gin's house were all the rage! Many friends came together and had to have a great time.

I want to say to you both, that I know how you feel at this moment with the loss of your dear mother. The hurt will never go away, but the love for her and the memories will last for ever. Libby A.

Mrs Dodson was such a wonderful teacher - She taught me typing at glen cove high school and she had such a calming effect that even when you werent grasping that keyboard , she didnt ever make you feel that you couldnt grasp it - I can still type over 80 words per minute and I thank her for the start of my secretarial career.

Dear Dr. Dodson, Kevin, Darryl and Family,

I went to Glen Cove High School back in 1971 And I was Honored to have your Dear Mother as my teacher. I was such a mixed up kid back then and she really helped me become very good at typing and become very
good at Business and other things I was struggling with..She was a tough Lady and never took no for an answer.. Your Mother was an amazing eductor! I have though about Mrs. Dodson for so many years and never knew she lived in a town near me here in Georgia..I would have been there today but because of Covid I felt it wasn't the right thing to do.. Please know that My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time..And I loved the video and pictures ..It was so much fun to see Mom..I only remember her as a young woman...Rest Easy Mrs.Dodson and thank you for all you did for me..

To Leon, Daryl, Kevin, and the Dodson‘s Family,

The only way to have a friend is to be one. Carolyn’s friendship will surely be missed after sharing laughter and sharing tears for over thirty-seven years. Although, we did not physically see each other however, through emails, phones, text messages, FB, Face Time, and cards, our friendship continue to blossom.   Finally, Carolyn and Leon relocated to Georgia where they could be closer to their sons. We met at Founders' Day 2012 with joy and thanksgiving in our hearts.

Carolyn was a serious minded, well rounded adult who was always giving of herself expecting nothing in return. She was always empowering others by precept and example to accomplish their goals. Under her leadership Pi Pi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. became a beacon of light to the residents of New Cassels and Westbury Communities. I found Carolyn to be loving, accepting also, encouraging and inspiring in seeking the other person’s highest good and God's will for their life. Where love is, there God is.

My friend and Sister,

I was one of Mrs. Dodson's student at Glen Cove High School. She was very encouraging making me feel like I could do anything in life I desired. She was one of the best and few black teachers in the Glen Cove School System at that time.
Rest in the loving arms of the Lord.
