"I lived a great life" was what a grandchild quoted Charles C. Scott Jr. (Charlie) as saying to him last, as the family gathered late on the evening of September 2nd 2014 immediately following his passing. Charlie had a long battle with cancer during which he maintained his well known positive attitude. Those who knew him would attest that when he was asked how he was doing for many years his response was not okay or fine but "bordering on perfect" which always brought a smile.
Charles C. Scott Jr. is the son of Addie Mae and Charles Clayton Scott Sr. (Clayton) and was born on the 29th of September 1939 in Hazelhurst GA which he always considered his "hometown". In 1957 he graduated from Jeff Davis County High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps because he "wanted a vacation" according to him.
Charlie had a passion for life and a passion for people. He was constantly looking for ways to help those around him often in secret but always very privately. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. Perhaps, the pastime he enjoyed most was cheering on his beloved Bulldogs over the years.
In 1980, Charlie founded Regal Nissan Inc. in Roswell and continued to serve has its chairman until the end of his life. He enjoyed the automobile business and started his career in 1967 as a salesman at Key Buick in Jacksonville FL.
His memory will be cherished by the love of his life Harlene Scott, of Roswell GA, they had been married for over 50 years. He is survived by his sons Bo Scott and wife Kristina of Ball Ground GA, Andy Scott of Roswell GA ; three grandchildren Holden Scott and his wife Melissa of Canton GA, Clayton Scott and his wife Anna of Canton GA, Abbi Comstock and here husband Jared of Canton; one great grandchild Addi Mae Comstock of Canton GA; brother Larry Scott of Marietta GA; sister Betty Jo Saavedra and her husband Buddy of Jacksonville FL; many nieces, nephews and loved friends.
