David graduated from Seymour High School in Payson, IL and joined the US Army in 1943, where he was stationed in the European Theatre- North Africa, Italy, and France. He was severely wounded in France and received a Purple Heart.
In 1946, he married L. Carolyn Doremus of Toledo, OH. They would have celebrated 75 years of marriage in September. He raised a family on the farm where he was born which had been in the family for generations. He raised livestock, grew crops and had a large poultry farm and sold eggs to restaurants and stores in a tri-state area until the mid-1970's. After retiring from the poultry business, he worked for RC Cola and later as a data processor for PNC Bank for 12 years. They moved to Georgia in 2001.
David was a member of the Payson Masonic Lodge, Payson Eastern Star and the Quincy Shriners. He was Superintendent of the Sunday School at Payson Congregational Church, a past President of Payson District #1 School Board. He is also a member of the DAV and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a son, David Blauser Jr. (Tami) and daughter, Sarah Blauser. Grandchildren: Helen Belleville (Matt), Hannah Cournoyer (John), Caleb, Stephen, Jaden and Ethan Blauser; Carrie Miller (Army) and Katie Lecraw (Mark). They have 10 great grandchildren.
He will be interred in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and the North Georgia Agape Hospice.
