To David’s family,

I pray the Holy Spirit is bringing you comfort during this very difficult time. May the words and memories shared today (and in the future) always be a reminder of how much you and David are loved. Watching his tribute movie, and reading the comments from family and friends, it is obvious we were all fond of David in many of the same ways. My heart is hurting for you all…

With deepest condolences,

Greg Snyder

Angel, neither time nor distance has been able to pry me away from the closeness I knew to you and all the other Spell cousins...I'm always about a blink of an eye away from a flashback to our childhood, terrorizing Ma'Maw and Pa'Paw Spell out in Clinton. There may not be any closeness by association between Morgan and Lauren and me, but technically, they are guilty by bloodline to the charge of being labeled "Spell cousins". Blood only makes us related, but it's loyalty that makes us family. I said that to say this; my heart is hurting for you. This is a heaviness that no one can know, aside from you and the girls, and Elder & Sis. Groce. In your deathless attempt to apply meaning and kn
ow answers, just know that you have not been abandoned. "...troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;". As for my part, justly fit words are never more illusive than as in moments like this one, and helpful thoughts are all so hollow feeling. Notwithstanding, you are and will remain in my thoughts and my prayers. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of all the things that you've loved and lost in the fire...David the Dad, and as husband...and as a good son to Elder & Sis. Groce. He is Comforter, and His Grace will be sufficient for every trial we face. I love you Angel!

Always your cousin in crime,
