

Mr. David William Mangum, 60, of Alpharetta, a native of Atlanta, passed away on May 14, 2012. David was a professional truck driver working for such firms as Blue Circle (Lafarge), Dykes Paving and so forth. Along with his wit and charm David is best remembered for several reasons: his love of animals and cooking. David owned several dogs of varying pedigrees from Nick, his beloved shepherd, to Sam his treasured golden retriever. His latest companion was a rescue, Marley, a true mutt. David easily forgave him his background and adored Marley as Marley adored David. David was also a renowned cook from his rib roasts, hams, leek and potato soup and deviled eggs to his chocolate, coconut and carrot cakes. An invite to the Mangum Christmas dinner were eagerly accepted in order to partake of David’s cuisine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Grace Mangum, and by his twin brother, Danny Mangum. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 28 years, Robin; loving children – Robert David Mangum and Jessica Grace Mangum; and David’s sister Teresa Kirk. Also surviving are numerous Aunts and Uncles and Cousins from the Gary and Seagraves families as well as; beloved sisters in law and brothers in law, Scott and Tracey Richardson, Gerard (Spook) and Sandy Roussin. He was very much loved by his nephews and nieces; Tyler and Sean Roussin, Ian and Monica Kirk and their children – Zak, Katie and Maezy. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-9 PM, Fri., May 18th and the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Sat., May 19th, both at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, Ga. 30076. He will be placed at rest at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to http://www.forsythpets.org/donate.
