

David, age 62, was a graduate of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and earned a Juris Doctorate from the School of Law. He was a proud brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was a member of the State Bar organizations of Georgia and New York and a partner at Yates Insurance, LLC where he worked for over 27 years. He maintained active participation with the Georgia Highway Contractors Association and the Georgia Utility Contractors Association. He remained passionate about his work and strived to always provide the best service to his clients, whom he also considered friends.
David was best known for his love of his extended family and friends. He was dedicated to his fellowship group and his faith. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his zest for life and sharing his enthusiasm with them.
David will be deeply missed by wife, Rachel Hoover Rawson, his sons, Daniel Phillips Rawson and Harry Hoover Rawson, and his mother, Marcia Phillips Rawson. He will be remembered by his nieces, Caroline Clark, Rachel Monroe, Heather Ramdath, Summerlin O’Neill, his nephew Knox Rawson, and their families. David was preceded in death by his father, brother, Scott Sherard Rawson, father-in-law Alan Germain Hoover, and mother-in-law Theresa Julianne Hoover.
A celebration of life will be held at Horseshoe Bend Country Club on the afternoon of November 16, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00. His eternal resting place will be Bonaventure Cemetery in his beloved hometown of Savannah, among the marshland of the Wilmington and Savannah Rivers, live oaks covered in Spanish moss, and azaleas.

Although David's sudden departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, his legacy will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
