Debbie, as she was affectionately known, was born in Batesville, Indiana to the late Jerald and Gayle Kellerman.
She was a graduate of Rensselaer Central High School (1971) and obtained a degree from a Lafayette, Indiana business school. Debbie spent time as a secretary at Purdue University and an office administrator at a cheerleading gym.
She was kind and generous with an unspoken way of bringing her loved ones together where everyone felt complete. Family was especially important to her. She thought of herself first and foremost as a grandmother, known to her grandchildren as Nana. Debbie was also a devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving sister, and loyal friend.
Along with her parents, Debbie is predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, James K. Doty. Debbie and Jim met in Lafayette, moving their family around the country several times before settling in Alpharetta in 1990.
Deborah Kellerman Doty is survived by her loving daughters: Jessica Miller (Tim), Jaime Slider (Nathan), and Janine Dinkel (John Maitz); grandchildren: Peyton, Jett, Elizabeth, Tripp, Hunter, Brooklyn, Avree, Beckett, Bentlee, Tristan, and Julian; siblings: Becky Mullins (Randy), Susie Tortolano (Bob), Bob Kellerman (Mary Kay), and Tom Kellerman.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Debbie’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
