Dolle Hunt Reeves of Milton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord—and to reunite with her beloved husband and children—on July 9, 2025. She was born on July 24, 1935, in Durango, Colorado, to Robert Rivers Hunt and Esther Grice Hunt.
In 1942, the family relocated to Georgia, eventually settling in Roswell in 1948, where Dolle completed her education. In 1972, she and her husband Edmond Frank Reeves moved their family to a small farm in Alpharetta (now Milton), fulfilling Frank’s dream of having horses and playing polo.
A devoted member of Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Dolle was deeply involved in Bible study and Sunday school. She shared her talents in the church’s Hook and Needle group, lovingly crafting baby quilts for new arrivals and designing costumes for church programs and holiday events.
Dolle’s creativity extended beyond the church. She found joy in quilting, sewing, and all forms of needlework. She also had a passion for travel—discovering new places was one of her greatest pleasures. Another lifelong interest was genealogy. Dolle spent countless hours researching her family’s ancestry, delighting in every discovery.
Her heart for service was evident through her support of children’s causes. She worked with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), helping raise funds and awareness to support children navigating the court system due to abuse or neglect.
Dolle is survived by her grandson, Gabriel Ryder Morales, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Frank Reeves; her children, Chuck Field Jr. of Ford City, Pennsylvania, and Beth Reeves Collyer of Milton, Georgia; her parents, Esther Elizabeth Grice Smith Hunt and Robert Rivers Hunt of Roswell, Georgia; her sisters Bobbe Bassett and Ida Maureen Smith; and her brothers: Jack Tillman Smith (Mildred Awl Smith), Harold Dopson Smith (Vera Swansberry Smith), and James Theodore Smith.
Dolle’s gentle spirit, creativity, and loving heart leave a lasting legacy with all who knew her.
