Dorothy Eleanor Schieber, age 94, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Mrs. Schieber, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of the late, David Maurtz and Evelyn Thora Geschwindt; and was a graduate of the Pennsylvania College for Women. She and her late husband, Robert Arthur Schieber, traveled the world together; residing in many of the U.S. States and Internationally. Mrs. Schieber was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was a constant volunteer in her church and community; teaching Sunday School and volunteering with many community organizations.
Survivors include her son, David A. Schieber (Linda) of Memphis, TN; daughters, Jan Barney (Ed) of Florence, AL, and Linda A. Fitzgerald of Roswell. Grandchildren: Jim, Steve, Amy, Gregg, Matt, Jeni, Chris, and Kelly. Sister, Lois Schroeder of Camas, WA. 18 Great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
