Dr. William Crosby Cook, Jr., age 83, of Alpharetta, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Dr. Cook, born in Blakely, Georgia, was the son of the late William Crosby Cook, Sr. and Clara Dean Cook. Dr. Cook -"Cookie”- was an anesthesiologist with Piedmont Hospital from 1960 until 1990. He completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity; attended the University of Florida for his master’s degree; and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Cook was a member of the American Medical Association; the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists; and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne A. Cook of Alpharetta; daughters Anne Cook Gantt (Rob) of Oxford, GA, Ivey Claire Eldridge (David) of Atlanta, and Jennifer Cook Albert (Paul) of Alpharetta; grandchildren Brandon Gantt, Emily Gantt, Elizabeth Gantt, Claire Henwood (Scott), and Duncan Albert; great grandchild Cora Crosby Henwood; brother Dr. H. Dean Cook (Joyce) of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
