Mrs. Edith “Lee” Lenore Harris, age 75, of Roswell, Georgia passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Lee was born on August 14, 1943 in Bainbridge, Georgia; as the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Irma Jean Catchman.
Lee married the love of her life, A. Curtis Harris, in 1964. They shared a wonderful life together and their family shared the experiences of different places and people as they moved around the eastern side of the country over the years. Lee was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend; she will be missed by all who knew her.
Lee loved helping and giving to others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, ear, or shoulder to those in need. She always had kind words of encouragement for others. She also enjoying sharing smiles with those special to her through the celebration of holidays and sought to bring fun into every occasion. Her working life since moving to Roswell in 1981 was spent with the North Fulton Child Development Association. She began as a volunteer in the Child Care Center and retired after having become the Building Director. Her life since her retirement has been filled with time spent with family and friends.
Lee is survived by her husband, Alton Curtis Harris; two children – their daughter, Elizabeth Harris of Roswell and their son, Christopher Jon (his wife, Janice) Harris, and her granddaughter, Emily Rose Harris, of Canton; her brother, Edward Earl Catchman, of Tallahassee, Florida; a nephew, Jonathan Edward (his wife, Delvis) Catchman and a great-niece, Sophia Renee Catchman, also of Tallahassee. Many other extended family members and friends will also hold her memory in their hearts.
The family plans to hold a memorial celebration of Mrs. Harris’ life at a later date.
