Edward B. Abrams, 62 of Roswell, passed away on September 19thfollowing a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Salem, Massachusetts on February 16th and raised in nearby Beverly by his father Manuel and mother Helen Abrams.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Cheryl; his brother Robert and wife Joann Abrams of Essex, Massachusetts; daughter Casey and her husband Bryan Villarreal of Cartersville, Georgia; and two sons Geoffrey and Andrew Abrams of Roswell, Georgia. His two granddaughters, Noelee Kate and Hattie Ann Villarreal, too young to remember him, will nevertheless come to know their extraordinary grandfather through stories shared by his family and those fortunate enough to have known him.
Ed found success in all aspects in life. He rose to the role of Group President of Lincoln Educational Services in 2008 following nearly 30 years of service in the education sector while playing an active role in the lives of each one of his family members. Additionally, he was an avid runner who competed in numerous marathons including the Boston Marathon as recently as April, 2012 without the knowledge that the cancer to which he would ultimately succumb was in its infancy.
The impact of his life is felt by many and will continue to be felt as the fond memories of Ed are spread by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 23rdat 2:00p.m. at the Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia. The family is accepting flowers or donations to a charity of choice in remembrance of Ed.
