Mr. Edward J. Sperr, 84, of Alpharetta, entered into God's care on August 6, 2011. He was employed by Clark Equipment Company for over twenty years before becoming president of Clarklift of Atlanta for another 25 years upon his retirement. He proudly served our country in WWII in the Navy Air Corps as a bombadier/navigator aboard a PBY. After his honorable discharge he attended the University of Illinois where he earned his engineering degree in mining. He was an active member of the Roswell Presbyterian Church, the Atlanta Athletic Club, and the Masonic Temple. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia. Ed is survived by his loving children -, Leslie(David) Hamilton, John Peter (Felicia) Sperr, Chip (Amy) Sperr, Alexis (Milton) Morris; grandchildren - Michael, Louisa, John Elliott, Ivan and, Zane. Visitation will be held from 6 -8 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. He will be placed at rest in a private service at Roswell Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or Shriners Childrens Hospitals. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
