Eileen V. Martyn

Eileen was born on November 15, 1936 in New York NY and resided in the borough of Queens with her father, mother and younger brother in a quaint one bedroom apartment until her marriage to Charles J. Martyn. Eileen and Charles began their married life together in Fort Lee, NJ where they started their family. The couple gave birth to their son, Richard C.J. Martyn (Maresco) in 1964. Approximately 5 1/2 years later, Eileen yearned for another child. In anticipation of the new addition, they relocated to Hillsdale, NJ. Carolyn E. Martyn (Lopes) arrived shortly thereafter in 1970. In 1983, Eileen and her family relocated to Roswell, GA where she lived the remainder of her life.

Eileen was a devout mother and Christian and dedicated her life to both her children and grandchildren. She also found joy in sharing time with her close friends in New Jersey and Georgia. Her hobbies included playing tennis, making ceramics, painting and modeling (in her younger years).

Eileen is predeceased by her father, William F. Grippo, her mother, Viola A. Grippo and her brother, Billy Grippo.

Eileen is lovingly remembered by her son, Rich Maresco (Janna) of Cumming, GA, her daughter, Carolyn Lopes (Bryan) of Marietta, GA; her 5 grandchildren, Shawna Maresco (Scottsdale, AZ), Adam Maresco (Cumming, GA), Jessica Lopes (Marietta, GA), Alyssa Maresco (Cumming, GA) and Eric Lopes (Marietta, GA)

Services will be held 3pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Roswell Funeral Home. Interment will take place immediately following the Funeral Service at Green Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) in honor of Eileen.
