Ernest Dale Lord

Dale was born on September 25, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his parents, Thomas and Madeline Lord, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He was also blessed with a lifelong bond with his sister, Elaine Ellis.

Throughout his life, Dale was known as a caring father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. His greatest joy was his family, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, cheering them on at sporting events, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being together.

Dale began his career in Pennsylvania, working for Herman's Sporting Goods in King of Prussia. His career eventually took him and his family to Massachusetts, where they began a new chapter. He made Boxford, Massachusetts, his home for many years before later settling in Salem, Massachusetts. In 2018, he moved to Alpharetta, Georgia, to be closer to his family, allowing him to spend even more treasured time with his daughter and grandchildren.

An avid sports fan, Dale enjoyed watching just about any sporting event and rarely missed the opportunity to watch his children and grandchildren compete. Whether it was elementary school, high school, or college athletics, he was always proud to support them. He also enjoyed playing in a men's softball league during his years in Boxford.

Dale loved being outdoors and looked forward to his daily walks. Those walks were never just about the exercise—he genuinely enjoyed stopping to chat with neighbors and anyone he met along the way, always taking the time to share a smile or a friendly conversation. When he wasn't watching sports or out for a walk, he enjoyed relaxing with classic television shows and old movies.

Dale is survived by his loving sister, Elaine Ellis; his three loving daughters: Wendy Rocca of Wakefield, Massachusetts; Jennifer Fallon and her husband, Jim, of Middletown, Rhode Island; and Stefanie Baumblatt and her husband, Jeff, of Alpharetta, Georgia. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Amanda Rocca, Emily Rocca, Connor Fallon, Patrick ("Paddy") Fallon, Aiden Fallon, Sara Baumblatt, Abigail Baumblatt, and Davis Baumblatt. Each of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished watching them grow into the remarkable young adults they have become.

Dale will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering love for his family, his appreciation for the outdoors, and his lifelong passion for sports. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines, enjoying a walk through the neighborhood, or sharing a conversation with a new friend, Dale had a way of making people feel welcomed and valued. His kindness, warmth, and genuine interest in others will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
