Ethel Lonita Johnston, better known as Peggy, passed away January 30, 2023 after a long battle with breast and bone cancer. She was born April 11, 1933 to the late Julian and Ethel Skinner in Woodstock, GA. Ethel was a graduate of Canton High School.
Peggy loved spending time with her family and friends and her beloved cat Fluffy. She was caring and giving. Peggy will be remembered for her large heart and her willingness to help anyone in need. You could often find her cooking a meal, baking a cake, or giving a big hug and a sincere “I Love You” to all that helped her. Those lucky enough to have known Peggy, loved her dearly.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Pamela Johnston-Barnett and her husband, Alan; grandsons, Bryan J. Barnett and Bradley H. Barnett; sister, Barbara Sue Hawkins; brother, Ernest Dudley Skinner; nephews, Keith and Timothy Queen; and sweet cat, Fluffy.
There will be a graveside service for immediate family on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12:00pm at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 10:00am.
