Evelyn May Goennewich

She was born May 24, 1930 in East Meadow, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Frieda Buck. She is survived by daughter Linda Balzano; son Ron Goennewich; grandson Nicholas Balzano; granddaughter Brianna Balzano; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn grew up on Long Island and spent the first half of her life in the NY / NJ area. She spent the last half of her life in Roswell, GA. She married the love of her life, Rudy, on June 1, 1952. They spent a lifetime together, 70 + years, until his death in April 2021.

Evelyn was a loving housewife, and among many things enjoyed church activities, cooking / baking, photography, and gatherings with friends and family. She was an active member of Rivercliff Lutheran Church since 1974, volunteering for vacation bible school, bake sales, and whenever she could lend a helping hand. But above all else she enjoyed providing love and support to her family and her “honey bunny”, Rudy.

A memorial service will be held at Rivercliff Lutheran Church, on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
