

Fata Duyan Ballah was 63 years and 7 months old. She departed this earth on October 12, 2023 at 3:38 am in Northside Hospital – Duluth, Georgia. Fata was born on March 18th, 1960 to Goyee Dukuly and Larwuo Miller in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Republic of Liberia, West Africa. Fata was the beloved wife of Joseph Ballah, Sr.
She was known for her friendliness, happiness, compassion, empathy, sympathy, adventurous nature, caring soul, cheerful ambience, and her contagious aura. She had a love for cooking the most amazing meals, sewing, dressmaking, crafting, and gardening amongst many others.
Throughout her life, Fata achieved many accomplishments in various fields including teaching, arts, and evangelism. She maintained a positive attitude and outlook. This was contagious through her touch on the lives of countless individuals. She carried immense respect for everyone and a willingness to always help whether through valued perspectives, strategies, supportive conversations or soul-strengthening prayers.
Fata is cherished and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart of forty years and seven months, Joseph Ballah Sr, her five children, Joseph M. Ballah, Jr, Amos J. Ballah, Papie Morris Ballah, Asatu Yamah Camara and Abraham Kollie, and brothers, Eugene Miller, and David Miller, sisters Eyea (Garmai Grey-Smith), Deddeh Miller, Zalaywu, Konah, and Banah, former co-workers and close friends Luticia Hellman, Amos Hellman, Lavinda Iwhene, Agnes, Luce, Spenella Bracewell and many others.
She was preceded in death by her mother Larwuo Miller and her father Goyee Dukuly.
Memorial Services to celebrate Fata’s life and honor her contributions to the world will be held in Newark, NJ with dates and times to be announced.
