Faye Price Luttrell, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on May 11, 1938, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late James “Jim” and Daisy Price. She spent much of her childhood in Beech Bluff, Tennessee, and later attended West Tennessee Business College.
Faye had a strong work ethic and took great pride in being independent and self-sufficient. She worked for 17 years with American Olean Tile in Jackson, Tennessee, and Lewisport Kentucky. After moving to Florida, she worked for the Election Board, became a Mary Kay consultant, and later worked for Countryside Citrus.
Faye was talented and creative, with a love for sewing, crafting, jewelry making, and tole painting. Her sewing skills followed her throughout her life, and even while living at The Oaks at Hampton Assisted Living, she enjoyed helping a friend by hand hemming her clothing. She loved golfing, gardening, and spending time sun bathing on the beaches of Florida. She also enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit Ireland, Spain, and Portugal.
Giving back to others was an important part of Faye’s life. She volunteered with the Homemakers Club in Lebanon, Indiana, helped with a soup kitchen at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Florida, and sewed for numerous church projects.
Music held a special place in Faye’s heart. She sang in a gospel trio and church choir, and she passed her love of music on to her children. She was a devoted mother who worked hard to instill Christian love, honesty, independence, and a strong work ethic in her children. She cherished her role as a grandmother and took great pride in her family. One of her Grandchildren, Michael, said “We couldn’t have asked for a better grandmother. She fostered a love for creating things through sewing and cooking. I remember enjoying home ec and doing really well because of her. I remember her teaching us songs when we were young and reading to us every night we spent in their home which helped me learn to read. She was always warm, loving, and full of grace. I was lucky to have a role model like her growing up”.
Faye was known for always being impeccably put together. Her hair was always styled, her makeup was always done, and she loved being dressed to the nines. She even modeled at Vista Plantations.
Faye will be remembered for her independence, creativity, generosity, determination, and the many lessons she passed down to her family. She knew the value of a dollar and was thrifty, practical, and hardworking. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose influence will continue through the generations.
Faye is survived by her children, Angela Gamble (Lynn) and Tim Bivens (Julie); daughter-in-law, Jayne Luttrell; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, James E. Price (Jane); brother-in-law, Arliss Green; and sister-in-law, Shirley Price.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, John Luttrell; son, Steve Luttrell; sisters, Doris Green and Dorothy Holt; and brother, Ray Price.
