Florence Martha Rigot

Florence Martha Lyons Rigot, 89 years of age, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Alpharetta, Georgia. Florence was born on March 10, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Florence Lyons, and was the third of three children. As a young girl, Florence lost her father. Her mother persevered through the height of the Depression and raised three children as a widow. Florence’s two brothers, Bob and Jack, went on to serve in World War II. To her family, Florence was lovingly known as “Sis.”

Florence went on to attend Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Ohio where she met her one true love, Donald R. Rigot, on a blind date. They married on October 4, 1951 and created a loving family of six children.

She is survived by her three sons, Don Jr. (Cindy), Tom Sr. (Sharon), and Jeff (Kristy), and her three daughters, Nancy Wendt (Frank), Joyce Bahorich (Jerry), and Carolyn Seabolt (Tony). She is also survived by 15 adored grandchildren, Kevin, Paige, Michael (Sherri), Misty (Chris), Tom Jr. (Angie), Megan (David), Tim, John, Brian (Sarah), Brad, Brooke, Katie, Matt, Jack and Camille, and her 7 great-grandchildren, Josh, Seth, Lydia, Peyton, Kaden, Kaitlyn and Julia.

Above all, Florence was a loving homemaker whose joy in life emanated from her family and her friendships. She demonstrated her love through her culinary and baking skills, but also through her willingness to listen and support – she was always in your corner. We will forever miss her home-baked bread and poppy seed rolls. Her kind and graceful nature was evident in everything and everyone she touched. Like bees to honey, Florence made friends everywhere she went. She walked with God in life, and she will live in His eternal grace in her death. We will see her again in His kingdom; until then we will forever carry her in our hearts and will strive to emulate her kind spirit.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4th from 6:00pm to 8:00 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. A funeral mass is set for Wednesday, June 5th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia.
