

Frances Webb Barnes passed away on May 18, 2026 surrounded by her family after a life beautifully and faithfully lived. Her loving husband Jack, of 70 years, was by her side. A devoted Christian, loving mother, mentor, athlete, and friend, Frances touched countless lives through her kindness, servant’s heart, and unwavering faith.
Frances devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She treasured her years as a stay-at-home mother while raising her two beloved children, John and Vikki, whom she loved beyond measure and supported with endless encouragement and grace. Her grandchildren, Will, Katie, Jack and Drew and her great grandchildren Wallace, Dulcie and Nova were such a joy to her.
Frances dedicated many years of service to Roswell United Methodist Church, where she worked as Membership Coordinator and became a familiar and welcoming presence to generations of church members. Her church family was central to her life. She faithfully served for 15 years in Stephen Ministry, offering compassion, guidance, and comfort to those walking through difficult seasons. She was also a devoted member of the church choir for more than 57 years, sharing both her faith and joyful spirit through music.
Frances lived life with remarkable energy and enthusiasm. An accomplished athlete and lifelong runner, she completed 38 Peachtree Road Race races along with a half marathon and numerous 5k and 10k road races throughout the years. Whether running, bowling, playing softball or tennis, Frances inspired others with her determination, vitality, and joyful spirit.
More than her accomplishments, Frances will be remembered for the way she made people feel. She had a gift for welcoming others, listening deeply, encouraging generously, and loving unconditionally. Her faith guided every part of her life, and her example of kindness, perseverance, humility, and service leaves a lasting legacy for all who knew her.
She was an inspiration to many and was loved by everyone she met. Her family and friends will forever cherish her warmth, laughter, wisdom, and steadfast love.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, Jack; her children, John (Catherine), Vikki; sister, Polly (Gary) and brother, Jimmy (Barbara); she was preceded in death by her brother, Pete (Millie), her sister, Vivian and grandson, Drew.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday May 28, 2026 with a Celebration of Frances’s Life to follow at 2 PM at the Roswell UMC chapel located at 814 Mimosa Blvd. Roswell, GA 30075.
