Marion Francis “Frank” Garrick, age 80, of Duluth, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 15, 2022 at North Fulton Hospital after being admitted for a broken leg. He was born on February 5, 1941 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Frank attended Sacred Heart Cathedral in his early years. He moved to Bergen County, New Jersey at age 13 and graduated from Midland Park High School. He lived in both Ridgewood and Waldwick, New Jersey. Frank Enlisted in the USAF in June 1963. He served in Rosas, Spain and Langerkopf and Birkenfeld, Germany. He also served as a GCI Weapons Tech in Banmethout, Vietnam.
Frank came to Atlanta in 1967 where he worked numerous jobs, mainly in retail. Frank lived a very happy life where he never met a stranger. His kindness grew with his years. He was an extremely accomplished bargain shopper, loved crossword puzzles and even the grandkids pets. He also shared a vast wealth of knowledge with his friends on trivia night. He found a smile in everything he did. Everyone that crossed his path could not help but love him.
Frank was a Master Mason of the Norcross Lodge 228 where he also enjoyed cooking for the lodge breakfast and volunteering in his community. He loved God and his Country. This past year allowed him to enjoy spending more time with his daughter Kimberly Paige Garrick of Blairsville, GA., who will miss him dearly.
Frank will be immeasurably missed by his son William Todd Garrick and Susan of Dahlonega, GA and grandchildren, Austin, Savannah, Althea and Corrina. He is also survived by nieces, Mandy (Greg) Gentile and Angel Lethebridge, great – nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by parents M.L. Garrick, Jr. of Raleigh, NC and Fran G. Stewart of Atlanta; and Sister Barbara and brother-in law Bill Glendinning of Duluth, GA.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road; Roswell, Georgia 30076.
A Graveside Service to honor Frank’s life will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum, 950 Mansell Road; Roswell, Georgia 30076.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Children’ Home, 1417 Nottingham Dr., Macon, GA 31211.
