

Frederic Miller “Rick” Reese, Jr., 79, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 22, 1946, in Maryland to Dr. Frederic Miller Reese, Sr. and Ethel Merritt Reese.
Rick grew up in Baltimore and spent many of his formative years at Hyde Bay Camp on Lake Otsego, where he developed lifelong friendships and a love for the outdoors.
He earned both a BA in Business Administration and an MBA in Marketing from Loyola University in Baltimore. Maryland. On September 1, 1968, Rick married the love of his life, Linda Dillon, beginning 57 years of devotion, partnership, and unwavering loyalty.
In 1970, Rick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He trained at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune, served with the 4th Engineer Battalion in Baltimore, and achieved the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1976. He was especially proud of his work with the Toys for Tots program, helping bring joy to children during the holidays.
Rick enjoyed a long career with the USG Corp, where he excelled in National Account Sales and developed and implemented sales training programs. After retiring, he continued working part-time as a manufacturers’ representative specializing in energy efficient lighting. A gifted teacher, he found fulfillment in helping others grow and succeed.
Rick and Linda began their family in their home city of Baltimore, Maryland. They spent many cherished years in New Fairfield and Danbury, Connecticut. Some of their happiest memories were their days on Candlewood Lake, Oscar parties, and hosting family reunions. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the family enjoyed city life and unique experiences. Rick and Linda also introduced friends and neighbors to the Maryland tradition of crab feasts, sharing old stories and happy times.
Rick loved photography, classic cars, time on the water, and the loyal dogs who were always by his side. In his youth, he enjoyed his time with the family at the Outer Banks playing at the beach with his sister and cousins. He developed a passion for horses during his summers at Hyde Bay Camp in Cooperstown, New York.
One of the great honors of Rick’s life was his involvement with the Sons of the American Revolution. He served as President of the Piedmont Chapter, Education Chairman, and Senior Advisor to the Children of the American Revolution. One of his favorite roles was leading SAR “Traveling Trunk” programs in local schools, bringing American history to life for young students. The Liberty Tree Project, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, was an initiative that was particularly meaningful to him.
Rick is survived by his wife, Linda Dillon Reese; his children, Rick Reese III and Ashley Carman (Mark); his grandchildren, Parker and Samantha; and his sister, Elizabeth Reese of Clearwater, Florida. He will also be missed by extended family, friends, Marines, SAR colleagues, and neighbors who knew him as a kind, steady, and humble man.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00 AM at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek. All are welcome.
