Frederick Donald Bloemeke 88, of Roswell passed away September 14th 2019 in Roswell. Frederick was born in Newark, New Jersey on May 17th, 1931. He married Mary Jane Bloemeke (nee Gast) on December 26th, 1968.
He graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. After college, Frederick served in the Army before joining the accounting department at US Steel. After rising to the position of plant controller for both the American Bridge division in Texas and US Steel corporate in Pittsburgh, Frederick left US Steel to run the Water Tank division of Colt Industries in Kansas City. He then served as president of Clayton-Marks’s pump division in Chicago, before leaving to acquire and run Orangeburg Industries in Asheville, NC until his retirement.
A proud member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Bethany College, Frederick remained an active Beta brother well into his retirement. He served on the Board of Trustees at Bethany College from 1993 through 2003 and was a member of the President’s Associates. Frederick enjoyed golfing and traveled extensively with his wife and family. He also enjoyed complaining about his favorite teams the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Alberta, his brother, Richard, and his wife, Mary Jane. He is survived by his sons, Mark and Eric, his daughter-in-law, Julie, and his grandchildren, Gareth Frederick and Phoebe Jaye.
