

Geraldine Glockner Green, 74, Johns Creek, Georgia passed away May 9, 2015 after a courageous battle with kidney disease. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 19, 1941 to Gerald Glockner and Annette Thomas Glockner. She married her husband, Donald, on October 27, 1962 and together they lived in Ohio, Colorado and Kentucky before moving to Kingsport, Tennessee to raise their five children. Twelve years ago they moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area to be near their many adoring grandchildren.
Geraldine is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Donald Green and her five loving children; Angela (Randy) Strickland, Andy (Michelle) Green, Alex (Toni) Green, Annette (Landon) Cobb, and Alisa (Matt) Polli. She is survived by her twelve grandchildren; Scott, Joseph, and Katie Strickland; Isabella Decker and Addison Green; Bradley and Kara Green; Preston, Chandler, and Ella Cobb; Lauren and Jack Polli. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Rita Loewe and Sara Pihir.
Geraldine was an adoring wife, a loving a compassionate mother, a tender and kindhearted grandmother and a caring sister and friend. More than anything, Geraldine loved spending time with family and friends. She had a true gift for conversation and made friends in minutes that lasted a lifetime. She especially enjoyed celebrating the milestones and accomplishments of her children, their spouses and grandchildren. She was admired by all who knew her for her faith, strength, and optimism.
Geraldine graduated from Mount Saint Joseph College in Cincinnati, OH. Her favorite role was homemaker, but she was also a teacher, business owner, and accounting supervisor. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the beach with Donald.
A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Geraldine will be held on May 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church in the lower level Adoration Chapel at 3400 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022. Internment service will immediately follow at Green Lawn Cemetery 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. A reception will follow at the home of Alisa and Matt Polli, 4360 Bancroft Valley, Johns Creek, GA 30022.
