Gregoria was born in Madrid, Spain in 1939 to Jacinto and Rufina Varela. She considered life as a Catholic Nun until she met Virgilio, who was initially preparing for the Sacrament of Holy Orders. They both fell in love and realized that God was instead calling them to the vocation of marriage. Gregoria and Virgilio married in July of 1970. She is survived by her husband Virgilio and by her two children, Nuria Wing and Yolanda Martin. She has four grandchildren: Cristina, Christiano, Enrique, and Austin. A devout Roman Catholic, she dearly loved her husband and family, the focus of her life.
The Mass of Resurrection will be scheduled at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Johns Creek, Georgia at 10:30AM on Friday, August 18. Graveside service will immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA.
