

Henry "Hank" Curtis Johnson Jr., 81 of Sandy Springs departed this earth on April 22, 2012. Hank was the second of three to be born to the late Curtis and Clara Johnson on April 14, 1931 in Tennille, Georgia. Hank married his high school sweetheart, Betty Wilson, whom lovingly called him "Lard" on August 19, 1950. They were married for 59 years. Hank was a 1950 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Thomaston, Georgia where he was standout football player and signed a scholarship to play football at Kansas State University. Hank was involved in the Boy Scouts as a young man and became an Eagle Scout. Hank joined the Air Force during the Korean conflict and retired in 1971 after serving 20 years. Hank worked for Georgia Power as an executive in Residential Marketing retiring in 1989. He was a member of Dunwoody Country Club and spent the majority of his retirement years doing what he loved most, playing golf. Hank was also a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Joe and Shannon Johnson of Cumming, Allen and Sharon Johnson of Johns Creek, his grandchildren Greg, Mark, Tracy, Curtis, Danielle and Zachary Johnson, his brother in law Mickey Wilson and his wife Barbara, his sister in law Kay Martin and her husband Buddy and his sister in laws Tilda Wilson and Margie Voyles. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Johnson, brother, Lewis Johnson and sister, Mildred Renfroe. Hank is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1:30 in the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
