Jack Phillips Mills Jr.

Jack Phillips Mills, Jr, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Jane Busenlener Mills, his daughter Carolyn Mills DeLong (Jed) and his son Gregory Jay Mills (Carrie), along with his 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and other family members. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Annette Mitchell Mills and Jack Phillips Mills, Sr.

Jack was born in Birmingham, AL and attended Auburn University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta, graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and met his wife, Jane. After graduation, he joined the Army and was a First Lieutenant. Jack married Jane in 1971 and was stationed in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Later, while working in Atlanta for Southern Bell, Jack received a Master’s degree in Business from Georgia State University. After a 20 year career at Southern Bell, Jack started his own consulting business in 1991. In 1998, he received a patent for a fluid inventory control management system. He was a Freemason, enjoyed growing vegetables and fruit trees, loved playing cards and spent the last few years playing duplicate bridge.

A family gathering & reception for Jack will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 1:30 PM.
