Jackie was born on December 28, 1944, to the late Willard and Louise Blanc. She spent much of her childhood in Knoxville, Tennessee, and throughout her life, she called many different places home.
Jackie was a devoted mother to her five children and took great pride in her family. She was soft-hearted yet strong-willed—a true “steel magnolia.” She had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor, and those who knew her will remember her ability to make people laugh. She had a love for dogs, enjoyed fashion, and was particularly fond of shoes, building quite an impressive collection over the years. She also loved to bake, especially homemade bread.
Above all else, Jackie loved unconditionally. Her family was at the center of her life, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Beth Bauer (Scott), Donna Hambek (Wayne), Jennifer McNeely, and Kristin Thompson (Roger); her grandchildren, Jason White, Brianne White, Aaron Hambek, Cole Hambek, Lindsey McNeely, Sidney Cole, and London McNeely; her great-grandchildren, Georgia Branch, Briggs Branch, Damian White, Ryan McNeely, and Barron Cole; and her sister, Carolyn Davis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm Kerr; her son, David Kerr; and five siblings.
At this time, no services are planned.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jackie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
