James Armstrong Hall

James Armstrong Hall was born on August 8, 1975, and passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. James grew up in Roswell, Georgia, where he formed lasting friendships that remained important throughout his life. His friends affectionately called him “the Governor” because of his witty personality. It was a fitting nickname for someone who made a point of staying deeply connected with many people throughout his life. He made everyone around him feel welcome.

James was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a devoted fan of the Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He was also a follower of Jesus Christ. James had a deep love for classic rock and roll music, a passion he passed down to his children. His daughter, Lily and him have attended many rock concerts together and His son, Chase, carries that love forward by playing guitar in a classic rock band; a fitting continuation of the musical passion they shared.

James built a successful career in medical sales, where he was respected for his dedication, professionalism, and genuine ability to connect with people. He valued the relationships he built with his coworkers and customers. Many of those relationships grew beyond the workplace; his colleagues and customers became lasting friends. His warmth, humor, and willingness to help others made him someone who was truly appreciated by the people he worked alongside.

Outside of work, James treasured his family, friendships, and the many relationships he nurtured over the years.

James is survived by his wife, Ashley Hall; his daughter, Lily Hall Gelderman (Gavin); his son, Chase Hall; his stepson, Mason Delgado; his mother, Janelle Jones; his brothers, Jon Hall (Jena), Jon Jones (Sarah), and Jason Jones (Brandy); his father, James A. Hall; his stepmother, Rosan Hall; and his step siblings, Vickie Fernandez, Steve Goodall, Mark Goodall (Dee Dee), and Greg Goodall (Sean). He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jay Jones.

James will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, deep faith, and the lasting connections he made with everyone fortunate enough to know him. Through his children, family, friends, and the music he loved, his memory will continue to live on. He was, at heart, a “Simple Man,” and now he is a “Free Bird,” rising peacefully along the “Stairway to Heaven.” He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

The family has elected to hold a small private graveside service for James at Roswell Funeral Home & Green Lawn Cemetery. A larger celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
