

Jim is survived by his wife, Diane Tinsley, of Roswell, GA; his daughters, Sheryl Buck, of Bradenton, FL and Jennifer Kilgallon, of Cumming, GA; his son, Robert Tinsley, of Norcross, GA; his grandchildren, Rachel Buck, Sydney Buck, Alexander Tinsley, Thomas Tinsley and Connor Kilgallon. He is preceded in death by his son, James Tinsley, of West Palm Beach, FL.
Jim was born on November 10, 1938 in West Palm Beach, FL, to parents Rachel Wyatt Tinsley and James Milton Tinsley Sr. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy, where he has a 3 year Varsity Football Letterman, and Palm Beach Jr College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army: 2nd Infantry Division and The First Guided Missile Brigade. His career then lead him to AT&T, where he worked for more than 32 years in Florida, New York, Massachusetts, and Georgia, where he retired in 1996.
Jim was an active and social man who served as a Boys Youth Baseball Coach and Girls Softball Coach and was deeply involved in hospital volunteer work at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. He spent much of his free time golfing and cheering for the Atlanta Braves, University of Florida Gators, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. A celebration of life is scheduled at 1pm on January 23, 2017 at Roswell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
