James Steven Vandeventer of Norcross, GA passed away on April 12, 2021 at the age of 58. A beloved father and faithful friend, he began his career as a United States Marine and spent the last 31 years working with the United States Postal Service.
Jim was an avid learner, and over the past few years obtained extensive credits for his studies in areas that included history, economics, literature and music. He was passionate about the arts. After years of frequenting museums both locally and during his travels, he began to paint and draw regularly as a hobby.
When he wasn’t listening to music, he was teaching himself to play the cello, violin, saxophone, guitar and keyboards.
He was also an insatiable reader and dedicated to his book club. Jim enjoyed walks in nature, motorcycle rides and time with his family. He is survived by his two children, Rachel Anne Vandeventer and Zachary
James Vandeventer, a dear cousin Jan Brunette and a number to family and friends who loved him.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 2:00 PM at Stone Mountain Park Lakeside Pavilion, Stone Mountain, GA 30087.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent in his name to: American Cancer Society and/or Colonial Williamsburg
