He was born on March 29, 1933 in Louisa, Kentucky to Cynthia and Arthur White. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1956 and proudly served in the military until his retirement in 1975. After retiring from the Navy, he worked in leadership positions in the public and private sector.
An avid learner, he earned an M.S. in Petroleum Management from the University of Kansas in 1968. He was awarded a D.B.A. from George Washington University in 1975.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed reading the newspaper, especially the Wall Street Journal, listening to classical music, and watching his favorite PBS programs. He enjoyed playing golf and racquetball and working out at the gym.
He is predeceased by his parents and his three sisters, Geneva, Joann and Betty. He is survived by his three children, Lynn, Leigh, and Chris; eight grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be scattered in the water near his favorite alma mater, the United States Naval Academy.
