Jason...I could not believe my eyeswhenIsaw the news of your passing onDavws Facebook page. Disbelief and shock is an understatement. Although nothing lasts forever there's an unbreakable bond that lasts forever with former teammates. I first met you and your brother the summer of 94,going into my Senior year. Alfieri brought me out to the house in Smithtown to play with you guys ,I was sure I was gonna smoke both of ,Im sure once you saw me walk in with my long curly hair you thought the same. I still remember when I first stepped on that court in the backyard,it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. The rims were ultra tight,it took me a minute to find my shot,but when Did it was all swishes anyway. Icanstillhear the sound the ball made on the hot green court . Bringing the radio out ,your dad putting g us through drills are some of the greatest times of my life. I was to rough around the edges who didn't want to listen to anyone. YourDad explained the game in such a simple effective way,after a week of training with you I felt mentally tougher and love the game even more.  So many laughs off the court to count. The last time I played with you guys was a 3 on3 at a gym in Atlanta. I'm glad I came to visit you guys that weekend. We won every single game ,penatrating and kicking of course. I love the look on faces that underestimate us.Your performance at Honesdale Five star was legendary in the developmental league, you smoked people dude.  I love you brother

My heart is deeply heavy as I remember my dear friend/brother Jason. His presence was a gift, gentle, yet strong, kind, and full of light. Though words can never fully capture the depth of a life so uniquely lived, I know without a doubt that the imprint Jason left on this world and on all of us who knew and loved him remains powerfully close. He was a soul whose warmth and quiet strength will echo in our hearts forever.

It is often said that no loss is greater than that of a child, however the loss of a twin is to lose a part of oneself: a severing of the very essence that once thrived in unison. Jason may have departed from this earthly realm, but he remains forever alive in our hearts. We were heartbroken to hear about Jason. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of such a loss, but please know that our heart is with you.

We've been thinking about those years in Smithtown, when our kids spent so much time together,  playing outside, riding bikes, just being kids. I’ll never forget that trip upstate when the four of them wandered off into the woods and got lost. We were frantic and the police had to bring them back after what felt like forever. But when they returned after having to walk up the very long driveway, they were all smiles, telling stories like it had been the greatest adventure. That’s how we will always remember Jason, full of life, laughter, and curiosity.
