

Mrs. Jean Elizabeth McIntyre, age 85, of Roswell, GA, formally of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Jean was born on March 25, 1933 in West Decatur, PA, a daughter to the late Ray Orvis Meas and Mary Kyler Meas.
Jean spent most of her youth in Philipsburg, PA where she was very involved in activities including drum majorette, band and chorus. After high school while attending Pennsylvania State University, Jean met John Gilbert McIntyre whom she married and shared the better part of her life. Jean earned a B.A. in Education at Frostburg State College while raising 3 children. She enjoyed a life of music, social clubs and teaching 5th grade while residing in parts of PA, MD and OH. Following retirement, Jean settled in Isla Del Sol, St. Petersburgh, Florida where she would remain for 25 years. A highlight during that time was a once in a lifetime cruise around the world on the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary II. Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Jean is preceded in passing by her first husband, John Gilbert McIntyre; one sister, Helen Pfoutz; and her late husband, Walter Froh.
She is survived by her three children, Kim McIntyre of Roswell, GA, John McIntyre, wife Josie, of Newtown Square, PA and Mark McIntyre, wife Tracy, of Palmetto, FL; three grandchildren, Kyle G. McIntyre, Leah R. McIntyre, and Landry W. McIntyre; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Jean Elizabeth McIntyre will be held at a later date.
