Jean L. Nicholson, of Roswell, GA, passed away on February 12, 2024. Born on September 24, 1939, in Rockyford, GA. She was the daughter of the late Emory and Adrianne Lunsford from Roswell, GA. Jean lived a life filled with love, joy, and a commitment to education.
Jean was a proud graduate of Roswell High School and Georgia State College for Women. She dedicated her career to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher, retiring from the Fulton County School System after years of service
Outside of her professional life, Jean was passionate about cooking, baking and decorating. She also enjoyed assembling cookbooks and listening to music. Jean was also a devoted fan of the Atlanta Falcons and UGA football, cheering passionately for her favorite teams.
A loving mother and grandmother, Jean is survived by her daughters, Katherine Storm (Walter) and Lisa Pepper (Dalton); grandchildren, Blake, Nicholas, Callie, Taylor, Jack, Bailey, and Samantha. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jodi Nicholson, and sister, Joy McCollum. Jean was preceded in death by her children, Amy and John and sister, Brenda Shuman.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.
