Jeanette Jones LeRoy passed peacefully from this world at her home on May 29th, 2023. Jeanette was born November 1st, 1932 in St. Augustine, Florida. She was the youngest daughter of Noah A. and Velma L. Jones. She graduated in 1950 from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Following high school, Jeanette attended secretarial school and obtained a job at Southern Bell. Jeanette met her husband Harold while both were working for the phone company. They were married in 1960, and lived in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Harold and Jeanette spent many hours together enjoying sporting activities such as hunting, fishing, and boating. When she and Harold decided to start a family, Jeanette left the business world, so that she could focus on raising their children in a loving and caring home. In 1976, the family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia for Harold's job. Following Harold's passing in 1982, Jeanette returned to the workforce as an administrative assistant for George Silvers State Farm office, and later at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she worked closely with her dear friend, Jean Schmidt. Jeanette was a long-time member of Roswell United Methodist Church, and she was very active in the Seekers Sunday School class, as well as a member of the Altar Guild. Jeanette also served her community for 20 years as a "Pink Lady" volunteer member of the Northside Hospital Auxiliary. She had many good times volunteering there, where she enjoyed serving with her good friend Laverne Lantz, among others. In her retirement, Jeanette enjoyed traveling, especially noteworthy trips to Oregon to visit Ruth Sherman, and a trip to Italy.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Bruce LeRoy (Susan) and daughter, Natasha Knox (Eddie) and her grandchildren: Madison LeRoy, Brandon White, and Hunter White, and 3 nieces and their families.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, June 8th beginning at 1pm at Roswell United Methodist Church, followed by a service at 2pm in the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in honor of Jeanette be made to the Northside Hospital Auxiliary, or the Noah's Ark program at Roswell United Methodist Church.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roswellfuneralhome.com for the LeRoy family.
