For the first 12 years of my life Jerry was my closest friend, my virtual brother. After almost 3 years, I learned of his passing. I am sure his family knows of me, however we never met. I regret  never having been able to share the adventures he and I shared..they will always be treasured. We spoke a few times over the years fortunately, but like many in life missed what I am sure would have been a friendship just like the first 12. My condolences to his family..I have and will not ever forget him.

"Turn out the lights, the parties over." This comes to my mind as Jerry lit up every room he walked into and made everyone feel comfortable.  I was very fortunate to have three Goodson uncles each with their own gifts and and qualities to emulate. I have thought about each of them often in my life and miss them all dearly.  I could not have been more blessed to have finer examples of men to emulate.  

Uncle Jerry was a family man, a friend, a man's man and an example for us all.  His sense of humor and ability to make friends and his ability to laugh at himself (humility) will all be missed.  We all love him and Julianna, Leslie and Gannon tremendously.  

Rest easy until we see you on the other side.

My heartfelt condolence to the family. Jerry was a good and decent man. I have only seen him a few times since high school and the last two times was at the Atlanta airport as we met in our traveling/working days. May GOD keep your family and give you comfort in this difficult time.

I first met Jerry when I was a meat department manager for Bruno in Roebuck (Birmingham) Al about 1969. I believe he was working for Oscar Mayer.
He later changed companies and went to work for a regional company. Some years later when he went to leave them he told me about it. Jerry always put his family first. He and I had many conversations. He told me his favorite type of hunting was wild boar and about one of them running him up a tree one time somewhere in Georgia.
He was a fine person that I have never forgotten and never will.
Jerry has been on my mind for the past six months and I fully intended to try to locate him but I put it off. That has happened three times in the past year or so. This has taught me a lesson. The next person I think of that meant a lot to me I will call before it's too late.
My sincere condolences to Jerry's family and friends. Another good one has departed.

Dearest Julianna and Family; We are so sorry that we've all lost Jerry in his earthly form. We miss his sweet spirit and smile already.  Those and the beautiful memories will be with us forever. His love for his family was evident in all that he did. We're so proud of him, and all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers every day, asking for comfort and guidance in the days to come.

You have been a special friend every since we first met as new Windsor Oaks residents.  We especially enjoyed the dinners, golf outings and getting to know you and your special family.  Rest in peace.  We will always remember you.
