August 21, 1972 – June 25, 2026
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
With unwavering faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we celebrate the beautiful life of Jillian Meredith Wakefield Wiley, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2026, at the age of 53. Jillian was born on August 21, 1972, in Toronto, Canada, to parents Michael Robert Wakefield and Eleanor Grace Jasmins. From an early age, she possessed a compassionate spirit and joyful heart that would become the hallmark of her life. As a devoted Christian, Jill lived her faith through kindness, grace, forgiveness, and an unwavering love for others. She believed every person deserved to be seen, heard, and loved, and she had a remarkable gift for making strangers feel like lifelong friends.
Above all else, Jill cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and faithful friend. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment were her two beloved sons, Jack and Josh, whom she loved with all her heart and faithfully encouraged throughout their lives.
Jill shared an extraordinary marriage of more than 29 years with the love of her life, her husband, John Thomas Wiley. Together they built a home founded on faith, perseverance, laughter, and unconditional love. Their marriage stood as a testimony to commitment through every season of life. As members of Johns Creek Baptist Church, they were able to build that as an early cornerstone for their family, faith and way of life.
Throughout her life, Jill pursued excellence and embraced every opportunity to grow and serve others. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of South Florida, a reflection of her natural gift for connecting with people. One of her most meaningful personal victories was celebrating ten years of sobriety—a milestone that reflected her courage, determination, faith, and God’s redeeming grace. Her journey became an inspiration to many and a living testimony that hope and healing are always possible. Jill found joy in life’s simple blessings. She was an avid reader whose curiosity never ceased, an exceptional cook and talented cake baker who delighted in bringing people together around the table, and she enjoyed creating beautiful handmade candles. She was also the ultimate cat whisperer and delighted in her furry-family members too. Whether speaking with a lifelong friend or someone she had just met, Jill’s warmth, gentle spirit, and genuine love made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her radiant smile and positive outlook were a source of comfort and encouragement to all who knew her.
Jill is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, John Thomas Wiley; her cherished sons, John (Jack) Thomas Wiley III and Joshua Turner Wiley; her father, Michael Wakefield, and stepmother, Joey Wakefield; her mother, Eleanor Jasmins; her sister, Christi Baumann (Chris); and her brother, Richard Wakefield (Larissa). She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Amy Diaz and Joy Curnin; her nieces and nephews, Julia Diaz (Kyle), Jonathan Diaz (Elaina), Emily LeBlanc (Ryan), and Peter Curnin; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Roswell Funeral Home from 11am to 1pm, where family and friends will gather to honor Jill’s remarkable life, celebrate her enduring faith, and rejoice in the promise that, through Christ, death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Jill’s memory, continuing her legacy of hope and compassion for others.
Although Jill’s absence leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts, we find peace in knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior. Her life was a testament to faith, resilience, grace, and unconditional love. The seeds of kindness she planted, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
Jill’s earthly journey has ended, but her eternal life has just begun, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21
