Ms. Joan Marie Felty, age 67, of Loganville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. Joan was born on May 26, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, the first of five children to William and Joan (Morgan) Trinker.
Joan spent most of her adult life in the Atlanta area, having raised her children in Tucker, GA before relocating to Loganville. While raising her family, Joan was at one time an entrepreneur and small business owner, co-owning and operating Home Bound Services, an in-home care service for new mothers in the Atlanta area. Several years later, she joined the Gwinnett County School System working as a Cafeteria Manager for over twenty years. Joan was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family most. Some of her favorite hobbies included making floral arrangements, crafting and making home decor, and baking. Most recently, Joan loved traveling to visit her siblings. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend; Joan will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, Mr. William Trinker and one brother, Steven Trinker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Morgan Garrigus, husband Carl, of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Lindsay Ann Lapinski, husband Michael, of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Ava Elizabeth Garrigus (11), Mabel Grace Lapinski (4), and Sylvie Jude Lapinski (2); her mother, Joan (Morgan) Trinker, of Loganville, Georgia; siblings, Dave Trinker, Sue Raney, and Michael Trinker; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Ms. Joan Felty will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from nine-thirty in the morning until the service hour at the funeral home.
