Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Monday, April 6th with his family by his side. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald and Mary Langhorne. He grew up in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, graduating from St. Thomas College in St. Paul. He married Beverly Matthews in 1952, raising four children together.
Jack served 23 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot, attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. His military service included a year in Vietnam where he was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon his retirement from the Air Force he continued his love for flying while working as a company pilot for Stuckey’s another 10 years.
Jack’s passions in life included his family, golf and the Atlanta Braves, especially during their winning years.
His parents, his brother, Donald, and his son, Jim, preceded Jack in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Beverly. He will be greatly missed by his children, Mary Jo, Mike (Diana), and Rick (Julie), his 9 grandchildren and his sister Elizabeth.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 10th at 10:30 am at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics of Georgia, 4000 Dekalb Technology Parkway, Suite 400, Building 400, Atlanta, GA 30340
