Dave graduated from Floyd High School in 1958. He joined the Army in 1959 as a paratrooper and served 3 years. He then moved to South Florida to begin his career in operating heavy equipment, specializing as a crane operator. Dave moved to Georgia in the 1990’s to be closer to his family.
He enjoyed days at the river, driving down winding roads, and watching football and Nascar.
He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dave is survived by his daughters: Kathy Crews, Robin McDonald and Dawn Kenney; 2 son-in-laws; 4 grandchildren, Katlyn Crews, Jamie Crews, Wes McDonald, Alyssa Parker and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Cecile Sutphin; and his wife, Bobbie.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 5th at 11AM, Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA. Family will welcome visitors at 10 AM prior to the Celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
