Joseph Honstein 96, of Marietta died on Tues, July 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Honstein was born May 11, 1916 in Berthoud, CO, son of the late Henry and Katherine Honstein. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. After completing High School in 1935, he entered the US Army at Ft.Warren, WO and completed one tour. He then worked in a defense plant in LA in the early days of WWII, and returned to the Army during the war. In 1949 he married LaVada Evalee Grainger of Atlanta GA. He retired from the Army and went to work for Fulton County Voter Registration, of which most of his time was Chief Registrar. Survivors include his wife, LaVada Honstein; children Larry Honstein and Norma Lepore, both of CO; grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his wifes family and friends. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Honstein will be held on Sat, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Roswell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 2 hours before the funeral service.
