

Joseph D. McDonald of Roswell, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the age of 70. He was born in Muncie, Indiana to Joe and Thelma Tweedy. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ruth W. McDonald; four children James Johnson (Knoxville TN), Audrey Hoge, Christopher McDonald (Canton), Bonnie Holod (Washington DC); four grandchildren; and his sister Carol Liberti (Martinez). Joe grew up in Augusta GA and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1968 with a degree in Chemistry. He worked in various Technical Divisions of The Coca-Cola Company for 30 years. His love of science and mathematics was matched by his love of tennis, serving as President of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association in 1980. After retirement Joe was active in the community: teaching SeniorNet classes at the City of Roswell Adult Recreation Center, volunteering at the Roswell Historical Society Research Library and Archives, serving as Treasurer and Board member of the Roswell Historical Society, and participating in several projects with the local Archeological Society. Joe requested no funeral service.
