Mrs. Joy Anne Burke

Joy Anne Burke, age 47, of Sandy Springs, Georgia died at 3:50pm Sunday September 4, 2016 after a courageous 8 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and three dogs. Joy was born June 4, 1969 in Paterson, NJ to parents Joseph and Janice Dziezawiec. A graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, Joy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in writing. After spending time in the corporate world, Joy’s love for animals led her to her most recent calling as she became a dog groomer, perfecting her trade for eight years at Animal Medical Center of Cumming, GA.

Joy was a beautiful, bright and happy soul who faced every challenge with grace, dignity and optimism. She touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly. Joy is survived by; Husband, Michael (Sandy Springs, GA), Stepsons, Carter and Hayden Burke (Scottsdale, AZ), Parents, Joseph and Janice Dziezawiec (Paterson, NJ), Sister, Jill Robinson, Brother in law, Edward Robinson and Niece, Emma Robinson (Washington Township, NJ), Grandmother, Louise Dziezawiec (Woodland Park, NJ), Father and mother in law, Larry and Marilyn Burke (Champaign, IL), Sister in law, Kelly Welborn (Sidney, IL).

Joy is pre deceased by her grandparents; Joseph Dziezawiec, Thomas and Betty Guarnaccia.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30073.
