Julee was born on December 17, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK as the only child of G. Bus and Velma (Doty) Linn. She went to be with her Lord on April 8, 2021 at Wellstar North Fulton County Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Roswell, GA on Sunday, April 11 at 5 pm.
Julee graduated with honors from OKC Northwest Classen High School, and then attended Oklahoma State University as an art student. It was at OSU where she met the love of her life and husband of nearly 61 years, Don Norris. Don and Julee were married on July 1, 1960.
Julee was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was so interesting and easy to talk to. Julee was a stay-at-home mom for many years taking care of her three boys: Clay, Frank and Clint in Denver, Oklahoma City, Dallas and Austin, TX. After the family moved to Naperville, IL, and all the boys were in school, Julee began working at the Naperville Township Office for many years as Township Clerk. She had a great rapport with everyone she met and was tremendous in that role.
Julee was extremely intelligent and curious about everything. She was charismatic and made friends almost instantly. Regardless of where she lived, she made her home the entertainment center of the neighborhood – right up until a health crisis she had 11 years ago. Through the years, Julee’s home was always wide open to all the boys’ friends and to all of the many friends that she and Don shared. Julee had a wonderful smile and was a fantastic storyteller. She could recall incredible details about almost everything she had read, seen or visited.
She loved history and especially the history of the UK, which she and Don had the pleasure of visiting many times. Julee loved to travel, and Don’s job allowed them to travel to Germany, Korea, Japan and Hawaii throughout the years. One of their favorite trips together was to Australia.
Julee and Don moved to Roswell, GA in 1988 after living in Westchester County, NY for a few years.
Julee loved living in Willow Springs and being a member of the Country Club of Roswell, where they met some of the best friends they had during the years. Julee worked for many years as the Administrative Assistant at Millard, Inc. Architects. She used her artistic talents to help clients with design and color selections. Her love of history led her to serve as a volunteer docent at the Smith Plantation which had survived Sherman’s March.
She has been a faithful member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Roswell for over 10 years. Julee was the activities coordinator for the Presbyterian Women at the Church. She loved the Lord and the people of the church.
Julee is survived by her husband, Donald G. Norris of Roswell; sons Clay (Kathy) Norris of Spirit Lake, IA, Frank (Terri) Norris of Suwanee, GA, and Clint Norris of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren: Andy (Emily) Norris of Louisville, KY, Blake (Lisa) Norris of Grand Rapids, MI, Kristi Norris of Iowa City, IA, Will Norris of Charlottesville, VA, Faith Norris and Sam Norris both of Spirit Lake, IA; and six great-grandchildren: Rodney Norris, Prince Norris, Lincoln Norris and Wesley Norris all of Louisville, KY and Oakley Norris and Remy Norris both of Grand Rapids, MI.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers to honor Julee with memorial contributions to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
