Kal Johnson, a loving son, brother, husband and a friend to many, lives on in spirit, after departing this life on July 21, 2025, at the age of forty-three. Kal was born in Buffalo, New York on May 1, 1982, to parents, Bob and Linda Johnson, who survive him, along with his sister, Leigh, and his wife, Rachelle.
Kal resided in Georgia for the past twenty-five years. He was coming up on his 25th year at RBM of Atlanta, where he will be remembered fondly for his excellent work ethic and devotion to quality. He loved motorcycles, gun collecting, an occasional cigar and glass of expensive whiskey, and music. He was a skilled guitar player. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, and especially loved visiting the private island in Canada that has belonged to his family for generations. He loved sharing time with best friends, Brandon Martin and Daniel Phillips. Kal's kindness is perhaps best illustrated by a remembrance from his young brother-in-law, Joseph, who recalls calling his sister, Rachelle, hoping she could help soothe his nervousness about starting high school. Rachelle was not at home, but Kal saw that it was Joseph calling, and answered the call. Kal spent time talking with Joseph, assuring him that he would do fine in his new school environment. This is only one example of the many acts of kindness that Kal's family and friends will remember fondly, as they carry Kal in their hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held for Kal on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road in Roswell, GA 30076. Guests are welcomed at 12:00 PM, and a service will be held at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to suicide prevention or mental health associations.
