Ken was born on January 19, 1932 in Hitchcock, South Dakota to Joseph and Clara (Walton) Farmer. After High School he served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He is a graduate of the Dunwoody Trade School of Minneapolis. He was a Baker and Bakery owner for over 40 year. He owned his own family bakery in Clarinda, Iowa for 20 years.
He was proceeded in death by his spouse, Janelle (Eschen), his parents Joseph and Clara Farmer, and siblings Don Farmer, Esther Chaplin, Jeanie Younkin, and Louis Farmer.
He is survived by his son Rod Farmer (JoAnn), granddaughter Abigail Brooks (Ben) and great grandson Hyatt Kenneth Brooks.
