Kimberly Dawn Castro

Mrs. Kimberly Castro, 45 of Marietta, GA passed away July 29, 2022. Kim was born on June 24, 1977 in Glasgow, KY. Kim received a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Highlands College. She was a dedicated trauma nurse at the Kennestone Hospital Emergency Department. She was the heart of the trauma unit, and had a special gift to lift the spirits of those around her. In her 10 years as a Registered Nurse, she became Trauma Resource Nurse, Hazmat Team Certified, Tactical Emergency Care Certified, and Trauma Award Recipient. Kim was a loving wife, mother, and a dedicated Tampa Buccaneers fan. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and massive work family at Wellstar. Left to cherish her memory is her loving wife of 6 years, Ashlee Castro; son, Leo Elias Castro; mother, Patricia Hrudka and her husband, Ray; brother, Justin Vonderheid and his wife, Avery and their children, Braylen and Meadow; and parents-in-law, Lee and Denise Castro. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Evelyn Bestland. There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home.
